Luxe Minimal Living
It’s the time of sophisticated interiors that are rich in surfaces and colour but pared back. A palette of one or two colours and rather than a lot of furniture, each piece is preferred.
Redefine luxury with items that tell a story of authenticity and timelessness without being ostentatious. Latest home designs will include geometric shapes in fabrics, artisan glass and precious metals. Indigo blue and gold are favourite colours of the year.
Bringing nature into the home is a strong trend in 2016 – from the use of plants to horticulture inspired fabrics and wallpapers. Another major trend is combining natural materials such as wood, stone, cork, metals (in particular brass and copper).
Combinations will vary from classic ones such as wood and marble to more unconventional ones such as raw concrete and gold. Simplicity of form will be key in the way each material will be mixed together.
2016 is the year of Organic Glamour: artisanal objects, natural materials shot through with metallic, botanical themes, and a mid century modern furniture style incorporating some oversized pieces. Gold features highly but mixing your metals remains a key trend, and a softer, pastel paint palette is sneaking in.
