Cozy Rustic Design

Cozy Rustic Design

Defined, rustic style is a design emphasis on rugged, natural beauty. It embraces nature-inspired textures, simple and earthy colors. Modern rustic decor brings warmth to monochromatic spaces, adds timeless profiles to contemporary designs, and allows homeowners to create eclectic spaces. Modern rustic design combines old-world elements with contemporary design to create modern rustic appeal throughout the home. Concrete is a material in all aspects of architecture and home.

I just liked the polished concrete floors and beautiful light in this villa on the outskirts of Copenhagen. Modern rustic decor works best when presented in minimalist arrangements that allow individual elements to be seen and appreciated. Rethinking, repurposing, and recycling are key to designing modern rooms with rustic appeal. Rustic design incorporates wood, stone, and humble elements that create a warm, inviting space you’ll never want to leave. The space is light and simple.

Rustic style is influenced by the rugged, natural beauty of homespun rural living. Escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and settle into the warmth of an inviting rustic home. This rustic color palette mimics rocky terrain under a pale sky. Rustic interior design creates an eclectic look that emphasizes nature. Keep in mind that rustic decor doesn’t mean the walls must be beige — experiment with your favorite earthy neutrals. Natural hues and earthy materials are the inspiration for the rustic rooms.

Mod Cott

A simple metal volume on a bluff offers targeted views of the lake below. The guesthouse and weekend retreat complements a nearby stone residence and although it is “on the grid”. Rainwater is collected from the roof for household use and the xeriscaping requires no irrigation. The house is oriented to the south, its galvanized metal exterior punctuated by windows that frame vignettes.

A partition wall separates the elongated rectangular interior and supports the lofts structure, which appears to float above the glazed joist spaces. Fir decking creates both ceiling and loft floor, and is repeated in the supersized wainscoting and stair screen wall. Thirteen-foot doors further expand the modest volume, opening to the south to capture the view, prevailing breezes, and sounds of nature.

A home built in the lap of luxury does not have to contain the finest marble or a grand staircase. Mod Cott, a house, basks in the treasures that Mother Nature offers. Mod Cott capitalizes on the rich views of Lake Buchanan that contrast the austerity of the architecture itself. The home is clad in galvanized metal for a sturdy exterior against the elements. The house is met with the theme of simplicity.

Montecito Residence – Exterior/Landscape

Structural members such as steel beams, concrete columns, trusses and girders that are often left hidden, can be used to give an industrial feel to a project and an expressed style that can carry through the design. Designed out of fire resistant materials, this home with it’s raw materials uses it to blend into the landscape. A single-family home set in the fire-prone Toro Canyon.

Upswept roof forms at the entrance and over the primary living spaces give the house its distinctive profile, while channeling rainwater for use on site. The 100-foot-long central hallway allows naturally cool offshore breezes to circulate. The front door, a tall Dutch door, lets fresh air in while maintaining privacy. The ocean and mountain views and the privacy afforded by the 10‑acre site.

The central hallway creates an axis dividing public from private spaces: the garage, road, and entrance lie to the east; the garden, pool, guest rooms, and other living spaces lie to the west. The hallway ends in a glass and steel box turned 180 degrees to maximize the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. The design was a direct response to the site conditions.

Interiors With Exposed Brick Walls

Interiors With Exposed Brick Walls

Exposed brick walls or even ceilings can instantly infuse a home with history and character. A lot of people like the look of exposed brick walls. They became popular in late 1900s. If you’re looking for inspiration to create a feature wall take a look at this brilliant example of exposed brick walls. Make your bedroom new again with an exposed, distressed, painted or classic red brick wall. Faux options are available for the tighter budget and space. Exposing brick in your home can add character to any room.

Older homes typically have brick underneath the plaster walls, and the brick may still be in good condition. You can expose and restore it back to its former beauty. Tackle this project on your own with these following steps on exposing brick. Application of expose brick wall are not too difficult, the need of concern is the mounting level of neatness and accuracy of selection of brick wall in perfect shape and not porous. Wall exposure is ideal for dimensional of high 4 centimeter (1.6 in), width 6.5 centimeter (2.6 in) and length 12 cm.

Exposed brick is an interior design element that has captured the likes of urbanites for years. Test the wall you wish to expose the brick on. Chip a hole in the plaster until you can see the brick and what condition it is in. Brick was a common construction material in the 19th century, but sometimes the quality was not always the best. By testing a small area, you can see if the brick underneath is worth exposing. The brick should not crumble or break when you touch it and should be free of any major cracks. If the brick looks good, proceed with the project.
